mono amp to door speakers?

can i run a mono amp to 4 of my "door speakers" (ones on door and the ones in the rear)? any help would be appreciated

Most of the mono amps I have ever seen are class D amps, therefore rendering them useless for highs as they will not produce frequencies over 2k htz or somewhere around there. Mono amps are made for subs. you would do better finding a cheap 2 channel or 4 channel to run the highs. Hope this helps

yes it does, thank you, i got a free pos mono amp and it wont push my sub, so i was trying to find anothr use for it. thank you

Yeah, maybe sell that thing. That would only be good for a single sub really. For coaxials or components it wouldn't make sense.

A class D can produce the same frequencies that any other amp can, it's just that a Class D amp won't do it as efficient as a Class A/AB.

Most class d amps have only lowpass filters on them, so if your amp has a lowpass on it, then no. If your class d amp has a high pass or full range filter, then yes you can.

ummm a mono amp has onely one channels of amplified power...

so do you want to hear the left side of your music or the right side?

`cause all 4 speakers will play the same thing and you will have no fader or balance controls either.

monos are for subs... unless they are the 100w mini extants and you buy 4 of them!

I've seen a show car at usaci finals which had a few modified class d amps. Team Extreme (i think that was the name) had a thunderbird in basic consumer SQ that had a jbl 300.1 on each mid in each kickpanel (i think they were orion hcca 3 ohm). They did something internally to the amps to where they would run fullrange. Two 300.1's running the mids, and they had two soundstream class A amps running the tweeters, which were dynaudio.

It was pretty Sweet!
