Door Speakers

Do 6.5" aftermarket speakers fit best in the doors of a 2G? Is any cutting required or are new brackets necessary for installation?

You do relize that on the link you posted, there's an option that specifically says...

"What fits my car?"
"please select your vehicle"

True enough on that. However, their "fit" parameters are often just wrong. My new radio was marked as "will not fit", which was some source of confusion for me, as it's a DIN radio in a DIN slot. WTF
I called them and asked, got a nice fellow on the phone, he did some lookup and said their specs said it was too deep. Okay, so hammah time, no big deal. The radio showed up, and sure as shit, is the exact same depth as the rest of the DSM DIN radios I have floating around here. The thing fit like Cinderella's foot in that fetish shoe, and works perfectly.
I don't know where that leaves you on the rest of their guesses.

You would think a company as "distinguished" as Crutchfield would have accurate information....

Usually, when I buy speakers I check the best buy website. I've only ran into one issue with them where their merchandise did not fit a vehicle.

Yes, I do "relize" that and yes I did check it before posting this thread. Before crutchfield updated their site, the same same speakers showed up as "fitting requires modification."
