hey does anyone know if it is possible to modify the hks ssqv recirc fitting to allow the other fittings inside of it? Basically i am thinking of taking the original fitting and taking the fins out, leaving the circular part and then putting the fins inside the recirc fitting. This way we could recirc the hks ssqv and get the sought after sound of the bov! any ideas????

You would probably barely hear the whistle, but it would be interesting to find out. Try it and let us know!

well i think you would hear the whistle pretty good actually, might change the note but still could hear it, i know when i had my ngr type s recirculated it was still quite loud, just changed the note a bit thats all. I am thinking of using jb weld to do this, would someone recommend using some other kind of material to hold it all together? If im not mistaken they are plastic so they cannot be welded

ok so i started the project, cut off with a cut off wheel with a dremmel and put it inside the recirc fitting. Jb welded from there, now im letting it dry then another layer of jb weld to insure it holds. Then onto the car it goes.

alright so everything went well and i installed the bov fitting back on today. Took it for a quick spin and it worked! It gets some hks sound but not as much as with just the normal insert! Way more sound then with the insert though. Great upgrade and didnt cost much at all.

I was wondering the same thing. After I recirqed my HKS I lost all sound, I would always find myself thinking how I could use the fins & the recirq fitting together for the best of both worlds. How exactly did you do it ?

what i did was get my dremmel with the cut off bit on there and sawed off the fins right where they connect to the circular piece. I then jbwelded them onto the recirc fitting. I let it dry went back and did another layer for good measure. it looks kinds weird but doesnt sound bad and the car doesnt fall on its face like if it was vented! Sounds much better than just the recirc fitting!

Your compressor fins are toast if the jb weld lets loose. Unless the whistle can't fit through your recirculation tube.

hence the double coatings of JB. i tried prying it once it was dried and it wasnt going anywhere!

and also before i JB'ed the piece into place it wouldnt even fit through the 1" recirc fitting, it is like a manhole cover, cant fit through the source!

honestly its just all a waste of time. It doesn't really work anyway you try to do it.

Me and my friend were bored one time and we actually did recirculate the BOV while keeping the fin and you couldn't really hear it much.

Simple way to keep it without having to cut/drill anything.

1. buy a recirculating fitting for the HKS.

2. epoxy/ JB weld(whatever you want to use of of the 2).

Ok now you just get recirculating fitting and mount it around the BOV and just JB weld it. After that wait until it dries and hook it wit the recirculating tube like you would do with the OEM BOV. Not really hard do to at all.

Just doesn't work as you thought it would LOL.

it doesnt work super well, BUT it does work, mine adds quite a bit of the hks typical sound back into the bov. When you put the recirc fitting on you lose ALL OF THIS. With what i did i get a decent amount of sound back
