modifying a regular 255lph ?

I read in one post about someone modifying a regular 255lph walbro to make it a HP. I did some research and found very little info on this idea. Apparently you push the spring retainer down and it blocks off the pressure relief valve.

Does anyone have anything else on this idea?, or tried it?
