Recently my Spec Stage 3 clutch decided to slip on the highway after only 3,000 miles. More than likely i have a defective pressure plate and I am out of the warranty period so theres not much i can do about that. I used to have a 2600 clutch before until the clutch disc decided to break on that too so I still have basically a brand new 2600 pressure plate. Now my question is if the tolerances and specs between the act street disc and the 6 puck ceramic disc from the spec are within reason couldn't I just put the Act 2600 and call it a day. I know theres people who have done things like this and i still want to try regardless since I have a brand new act street disc if it doesn't work. But i just wanted to make sure.

Myself personally I never reuse pressure plates, they are not that expensive. But if you are low on cash I would get a new ACT street disk or 6 puck depending on your situation. And don't forget to have your flywheel resurfaced.

The 2600 has less than 3,000 miles on it. Act street disc is on the way anyway in case the 6 puck spec disc doesn't work with the act pp so we'll see.

Just an update for everyone that gets to read this. I measured both the spec and act pressure plates as well as both the spec 6 puck ceramic carbon and the act street disc. Both pressure plates had the same mesurements as well as the discs except the center section of the spec 6puck was bigger by .1 inches by everyting else was the same. So far am waiting 5-10 miles before i go WOT to let the pressure plate wear in with the spec disc. There is no issue with engagement or disengagement it goes into gear just fine. I know most people don't like to mis and match clutches but its something to consider like in my case the spec pressure plate did not have enough clamping force even though it was a stage 3. Hopefully someone finds this usefull i'll probably get around to posting the measurements.
