i usually ran the bp7res plugs and they always looked a silver(lean) but i put these on and their real black, and the car is still misfiring during idle and partial throttle when driving.

Funny thing . . . my GST started doing the same thing recently. I checked my coil packs and power control module and both seemed fine. The spark plugs are only a year or so old and the resistance of each is relatively low. So on a whim, I re-gapped my plugs (also a year old -- BPR6ES) but accidentally gapped em at 0.025" (must've been a brain lapse or something). Odd thing is, she doesn't misfire/studder/etc . . . So I'm wondering if perhaps my plug wires ARE going bad? or maybe the plugs?

I know our gap is supposed to be .028-.030", but maybe you could try gapping them to .025" and see what happens. Does anyone out there know if that would create a problem? I know if the gap is too large, you run the risk of blowing out the spark before it can even get a chance to ignite anything, but what about if the gap is too small? I'd hate to be giving REAL bad advice :shhh:

Anyways- I'm going to throw a new set of plugs in tomorrow gapped @ .028 and run around- see if the problem comes back. If it doesn't, perhaps I had bad plugs. I'll try and keep you guys updated.

Same with my 95 GS.

I found one of my plugs to be loose and flooded with oil... so I changed out the plug, tightened the new one down, and changed the gasket. Still same miss. The RPM's while idling steadily drop lower and lower while missing, and I have to keep the RPM's above 2 and a half while accelerating or itll sputter so bad itll almost die. It started it randomly one day... and the only changes that have been made recently were a recall filled on the asperator.

Anyone have any suggestions?

i think if the plug is flooded with oil then you might have a ring problem. And even tho i have a non turbo 2.0, would i be able to gap the plug to 0.28, even tho its suppose to be between 0.39-0.43? Im thinkin it could also be injectors, the other day i went to the gas station and put about 4 gallons in and then two bottles of injector cleaner and it seemed to run fine. Then i took the car home, it sat for about 45 minutes and i went back out, after about 5 minutes of driving it started misfiring again. so maybe an injector is clog? I changed the fuel filter when i first got the car, but i guess you change it every 10,000 miles. anyone else with some first hand advice?

Changing the fuel filter every 10k? Really?! OMG

Yea i might be wrong but i heard that somewhere because they tend to get clogged up.

Every 10k miles is ridiculous. Try every 60k.
