Im ALL in for having this in July :D... give me more time to get my sh*t ready...

Glad to see everythings coming along...

I hear ya about that!

But at the same time I feel that even if my car is down I just want this event to do very well, so it can become a yearly event thats gets bigger and bigger with time.

I can build a mini website that allows people to sign up and commit/pay online for the meet. It can also do drip campaign emails to remind everybody to go. Hit me up.

Hey, sounds like a good idea... Anyone spending money out of their own pocket, (like Jason would probably be paying for hosting space) should keep record/document of it so we can add that to the total cost and get you guys reimbursed. Also a good opportunity to gain a reputation around the area and become a sort of "vendor".

A website and emails does sound like a good idea. If you could do a basic site for informational purposes only, that would keep all the forums from having to read through threads on the event. Just link the site everytime there is an update.

As far a signing up or committing/paying, that isn't a good idea IMO. There may be someone that commits/pays but needs to back out for whatever reason, how do you go about giving that money back. Although there is much personal time being invested, I don't feel there should be compinsation up front for it. I don't think Buschur charges people up front, but he probably does have something setup with the track as far a compensation after the fact.

I'm sure Jorge (and whomever else is helping) knows what the track rental fee is and what needs to be charged, AT THE GATE per car or what "vendors" will need to pay to make this event successful.

My question is the time. Normally the gates open at 4, so is this going to be solely a Mitsubishi meet, or is the track going to allow others to run as well?

Otherwise, thanks for taking the time to plan this.

i JUST NOW found this thread and have read through the entire thing. and i just want to say that this all sounds like its going to be really really good. also thank you to the OP for bringing this thing together and to everyone else who is contributing to making this happen.

i dont know if i can help with any vendors or planning the event out and all that, but i will support you "organizers" to the fullest. if anybody in my area who is going to our TX shootout or is part of planning it and needs any help for what ever reason let me know. if i can help i will. ill do my best to put the word out there in the meantime.

Very good points. We do need to get a general idea of how many will show up, to know what to charge at the gate, maybe no payment up front, but just a roll sheet on the website we set up. (keep in mind, website will cost money unless its a geocities site or something) Anyone who spends MONEY I still say keep a spreadsheet on how much, so you at least can get in for free or something...

so is there a website up and running yet????

Sorry I was expecting pms. I don't go on here too often. My company owns servers in a local datacenter. No charge for hosting, design, and development. Just sponsorship status! + Maybe free entrance (No biggie though) :thumb:

I still think that optional upfront costs would be good. Maybe a discount if you want to pay upfront. The website isn't up yet, nor started. However I will get to work on it, it sounds like its a go.

My company has very close connections to multiple print shops. I can get printed tshirts basically at a very lost cost, and flyer's + brochures + handouts at very low cost. If anybody wants to make the design for that I will line that up.

I want to apologize to you guys....lately I've been swamped with military training/obligations to fullfil and have not been able to really follow through on setting up sponsors and details with the track officials.

I have to admit I'm very appreciative of how well this idea was received here on dsmtuners, it was MUCH more welcomed than on the Evo boards. That just bothers me even more that I'm letting ya'll down. The sponsors support has lacked as well, all wanted a proposal, car attendance estimate, etc....all information I needed time to put togethor which I just haven't had. I asked some people to help me out with a logo for the event, that even failed to materialize.

I have another idea..one that will alleviate a lot of pressure of my shoulders and whoever else would like to help coordinate.

Champps Americana has a huge parking lot down here on I10 and Huebner rd..I know for a fact they allow the Z forums to hold a yearly meet there. I'm going to go speak with the management there and propose they allow us to hold a Mitsubishi meet there. I'll try to coordinate it in July for a Saturday when there's a Midnight Madness going on...that way I can set up some form of itenerary....ie: show 10am-4pm 6-8pm meet up to eat, afterwards head to the track. I know MM at the track is usually packed, but we should be able to get sufficient runs in.

What do ya'll think of that idea? This idea will help alleviate any monetary pressure from parties involved and again I'll try to get some vendors there. Another plus would be this can go down in July, giving some of ya'll with big builds more time to finish up.

If I go this route, I can definitely use help with a site, designs, etc..let me know!

Its a lot of work to set something up as big as you were trying to do and something like that is going to take more time. Especially if vendors are going to be involved.

But your new idea with the midnight madness thing sounds pretty good too. And just any kind of meet where all us DSM/EVO guys and girls can get together will be good. I say lets set up the MM thing now and start looking into making the big meet at the track happen for sometime in the future.

this dosent mean we cant stick with the original plan. lets just pick a day (june 20th perhaps) and be there at that time and day. its that easy.
If its the fact that there might be no vendors or not a good logo or even not enough DSMers, THEN SO BE IT.
let it be what is going to be.

if we can just get something on its feet would be a good start. then maybe if it dose good it will evolve into something more, year by year. at least 10 dsm owners would be enough to get a positive out come of this. so despite of any "set backs" this still can totally happen. i just beg of all you who are interested in this. dont let this flake off. lets try to create something worth our time and worth attending every year.:hellyeah:

I should have looked at it more like you did. Your 100% right!

Rather than the original June date...we can now push it back to Saturday July 11th @ the Champps Americana on I10/Huebner road. I'm going to go speak with their management for permission to hold this there. I definitely want to make a Mitsubishi meet on the big scale happen! Plus with the July date, that'll give folks more time to prep for it.
