Port Moody,
Edit: Had the rear diff go in kelowna the mechanic told me the reason why it went was because of the bushings that hold it in and not because of the barrings, But the day i installed it started whining and vibarating. So i went back to him and told him yeah ok the barrings in it had to be shot which is why it went and he said that barrings wouldnt cause a diff to over heat and stop.

Sorry if I'm missing it but, the rear diff. (where the fire was?), or the center? Your asking the cause of the failures?

Did you ever look for signs of leaking? We are talking about your rear diff locking up right?

Liek i said b4 i edited it, Its kinda hard to check for leaks when you are on a road trip to kelowna from vancouver... But im talking about the new diff that was installed. The mechanic is trying to tell me why it went was because of my bushings that hold the diff. and its not because of barrings. But am i not right if i hear whining then its the barrings....

Is it maybe possible that the unit you had installed was for a different year or model?

Yeah the rear diff i had installed was from a 97 and it was this time a lsd. So buddie rebuilt my drive axels to fit it. Soon as i get it out onto the road not even 20 min later im having issues again.

Now i gotta pay for the diff... that lasted me not even 100 klm and then hes making me pay to rebuild the diff, he says 200 for barrings, 75 for seals, then labour :mad:

It shouldn't be stopping for breaks on road trips to let the car cool off, inspect tires and if you suspected the rear differential leaking or whatever, it's not hard getting on the ground to take a peek at the diff.

yeah thats true but why would it go... I dont understand... I mean i put redline heavy Weight shockproof oil in there and by the time she went on me..over heated that oil was black...
