I just bought a manual boost control off of ebay. I've gotten it but i ran into a problem, im not sure how the thing works. My friend who owns an srt-4 said he has no idea how the thing works because its almost like it would have to work backwards from the way it says it should. I will post pictures up in a minute but basically what i have is this. My question is how would this work, the piece that looks like a T-Split has one side that will not allow air to flow through, im not sure if i even need it but my buddy and i hooked it up both ways and have not seen any increase in boost no matter if the boost is turned all the way up or down, so obviously something is going wrong. Also the controller has no spring in it its just a screw type thing but it does still work because you can blow in it with it closed and it wont push air and when you turn up the boost it lets out air. The arrows on the sides say they are supposed to be pointing twoard the wastegate actuator but im not sure how that works because theirs no way atleast from what i see that it possibly can .Please help i'm bummed about this i really want to get this working so i can boost up the GST!

I have added pictures to show how it is currently installed, basically i believe the thre pronged t-split thing is connected to the vaccum line and the boost controller has tubing running fro one of its holes to the wastegate, if anyone can help please feel free to give any advice you feel would be beneficial!

I got that same exact bc . Same thing happened to me would not work for nothing. Ended up making my own from home depot parts and it worked just fine. not pretty but it works.

alright well im probabay going to just go make one or buy a different one, thanks for the feedback! this is just too much trouble for a little part

I would e-mail the seller about the problem and if possible, send it back. Then go get yourself a quality MBC from one of the Vendors or Boostcontroller.com. Questions to ask yourself: Why does the controller have an extra nipple if it is not going to be used? Why didn't the company/seller give proper directions? Too much hassle from such a simple part.

just purchased one of the boosts off of ebay, from nxs motorsports, says it has a lifetime warranty if it ever messes up you get a free replacement, its a ball and spring one instead of the bleeder and has great reviews, looks like one of the do it yourself'ers!

heres the link let me know if any of you have this one...ive saw a few people on here give good reviews...

Honestly, a manual boost controller is such a cheap part to begin with, Like the Hallman ES kit is 50 dollars. If you can't afford to spend that much on a reputable part that affects your car so drastically then you shouldn't be working on your car. IMO

True, but people are different and for such a simple part why pay upwards of fifty dollars when the same thing can be done cheaper? just different views on it i suppose but as long as both work hey im all for it

But no one ever has trouble installing their Hallman kit, while the Turbosmart knock-off MBC which you bought has been nothing but confusing and troublesome since it came out.

true, which is why i got a different one....and no in that prt i didnt because i used the tee and didnt have instructions for it i later got instructions and hooked it up, but the thing still didnt work
