Less than 3' total.

J-pipe/turbo/IC pipe nipple-> vac line -> MBC -> vac line -> wastegate actuator nipple.

The less vacuum line you have, the better.

it depends also on where you want to mount it. make sure you have enough vaccum line to make it a clean install.

the shorter the better... and use the smallest dia hose you can fit I mounted my MBC right on the snail, I removed the hose nipple and replaced it with a 1/8 inch NPT nipple about 1.5 long, and just have hose from the MBC to the waste gate actuator.

Shorter the line the better between the wastegate and the pressure source. Best spot to tap is from the compressor housing or J-pipe if applicable.

...use the smallest dia hose you can fit...

Why is smaller diamater hose better? With standard size vac. lines I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference. I could unerstand going say from heater hose to a 1/8" line would make a difference as it would take more time to pressurize the line.
