Shiloh,
I was just wondering, I know a lot of people have the PTE 50 trim, and I was wondering how fast it could go maxed out? I.E. all supporting mods and then some, and a good driver. I know that the t-25 has a max limit, and the 16g has an approximate max limit to it. Any clues? I looked at the 1/4 times, and the fastest 50 trim I saw was still 11.8 ish, and that seems kind of high for this turbo. Is it because this turbo hasn't been out long enough or what? BTW I wasnt sure where this belonged, so if it gets moved I understand.

Found that entry on www.dsmtimes.org. A green is a 50 trim from Forced Performance. I would think a 50 trim can take you into the 10's with the right support and weight. Most guys shooting for 10s don't try and make it there on a small turbo which "should" be able to do it. They just make the jump to a turbo that "will" get you there like a 60-1, PTE SC61, GT35R etc etc...

I like the 50trim because it's a good pump gas turbo which is what I spend most of my time doing. I would like to get into the high 11's on pump gas with my 7 bolt but we will see what happens, I'll probablly launch a rod before that happens.

I knew about the FP Green, but I didn't know that the Green was a 50 trim, that helps clarify, but does the PTE 50 perform just as well as the Green? Or is one better than the other, or since they are both 50 trims they should do the same? Thanks for the info.

In theory they should be the same, however the manufacturers will probablly tell you something different. I'll bet the max time or power between both turbo's will be pretty damn close. One may be better than the other but it's not going to be 50hp better or spool 1000rpm quicker. The differences, if any, will be small.

Support the vendor which you have bought from previously or will buy from in the future again so you buy mostly from one place. Then when you run into problems that one vendor has sold you most of your parts knows who you are and can likely help you when you run into problems. People who buy this here, that there etc etc and run into problems are not very likely to get help unless somebody is bored at the keyboard one day.

I run 11.7's and trap up to 121 MPH...Scot Grey traps 126 MPH on his 50 trim but has a well tuned EMS standalone. I would say 125 MPH traps are the limit with this turbo, typically. You can push anything but beyond that there's no point.

Curt Brown went 10.76 on his FP Green, but he doesn't count cuz he's supernatural or something. Plus his car is about 500lbs lighten than anyone else's dsm.

AMS did 508whp or something close to there on a t3/t4 50 trim a while back. Believe it was a .63 a/r, stg. 3 hot side.

I plan on running in the low 11.1x's this summer with my Green. Then it's on to 10's, Green, nitrous, and stock bottom end :)

Right, I know all of this is poosible, im just saying if your goals are going faster then 125 MPH, you should consider something larger. Look at what Dre did....but not the best way to go if you don't already own the turbo.

I don't see what a targa top has to do with the turbo

hehe j/p :D

Buschur made 505 whp on the br500 @29psi which is a pte 50 trim (to the best of my knowledge). That should be good for a high 120s trap.
