I don't know much about them, but I do remember reading that they sell titanium rods, wrist pins and keepers. I would think these parts in titanium, maybe valves too, would help with very high rpm.

Chris

I was looking at titanium wrist pins but I dont really know anything about them, I'll have to do some more research. I have titanium valves, retainers and valve springs lined up already. I'm mostly just looking for some rockers and lifters at this point

You got to watch some of those Ti parts.

I hope you got some spare valves...

They don't hold a grind too long which is why you see used nascar ti valves so cheap on EBAY.. Cycle racers buy them at lathe them down, shorten them, tulip... etc.....

I'd go with STD wrist pins.. Some are lighter than others due to a larger ID hole down the middle, profiling differences etc. Go that route. Ti pins have to be plated to eliminate galing. I asked brian at wiseco about that before he said for turbo engines :thumbdown

yea im gonan run the ones that come with my pistons. would i be better off just using the stainless valves i see everywhere. also what guides match 1m valves. been wonderign about that

The guide is the same... since the stem is stock. The head is 1mm o.s.

Get bronze guides installed and honed to the minimum clearance for bronze guides = much tighter than stock...

The seat ID (throat) can be cut back 1mm to create more curtain area..

ok you seem to knwo your shat, what do you think of the manley si dual spring kit on slowboyracing. think that will make a good setup with the evo rockers and lifters.

this thread is turnin out pretty good as far as info. just awaiting the weights on the evo parts

Should be fine..

Depending on the cam a good single spring and ti retainer should be fine too..

If you get the EVO parts... Hold off on the spings and retainers...

Weight them send me pics etc. I do some valve train dynamics... I always over build like check with the real cam specs then up the lift and or duration to see when it tosses a valve... You want a good margin.. Depending on the cam selection and the weight & stiffness (rocker) of the evo stuff the doubles may not be needed.

now are these stock sized for dsm or oversized. i really wanted 1m over in my head. had the design for 1mm over with stock ports for my n/a to keep port velocity but stock diameter valeves wouldnt kill the performance.

the stock 4g63 head will flow more then enough for a n.a motor but the 1mm over would add so much more to the cumbustion chamber

Dont use those for a NA. motor..

You can but its a waste. Sodium filled valves are nice for turbo EGTS.. Its a heat disipation thing that leads to valves which live longer..

Vettes and other NA cars use them stock so feel free but probably not needed in DOHC non turbo primarily due to the fact that there are two exhaust valve stems and guides to sink the heat out of the exhaust valves as opposed to a large valve areawith only one seat and guide.

yea valid point. i was more worried about the weight to tell you the truth rather then the heat disipation. i need to get this motor to rev high into the rpm range. im still waiting info on the weights of the evo rockers/lifters

Hey Guys, sorrys I just weight what I thought was a EVO 8 rocker arm, I found out they are not evo 8.. So I don't have EVO 8 rocker arms, but the stock rocker arms on our car weights 44 grams each
