Make your own datalogger cable?

I have a 95 tsi awd w/ 6bolt swap. Well I have this nice labtop that my college requires us to rent so I was wondering if anyone knows how to make their own cord. I'm good at wiring so all I would need is a diagram. Also has anyone done this before suscessfully?

depends on the what kind of cord. if it's cat-5 then no prob, but you'd have to get a custom end.
