At 14.6 seconds into this log my boostest went to 56 psi, coolant temp went from 193 to 90, baro went from 23 to 10, battery volts went from 14 to 11v, wideband factor went to -96, etc....bunch of bad readings. see log.

At 14.8 seconds everything went back to normal....should not be a bad ECU as it was sent in for a socket job and inspection just about 6 months ago.

Looks like a MIL was triggered but no record of it in Link other than the 1 after 14.6 second.

Can anyone tell what happened during this .2 seconds?

Dont have link on this laptop yet. :( but you should really check your grounds, and power wires cause it seems like some electrical surge happened that made everything misread, because theres NO WAY you hit 56psi on a T25. Check your battery too.

I've encountered a problem similar to yours. Your alternator is about to take dump. The voltage regulator is on its way out, too. It gave me all kinds of bad/incorrect readings even though all the other systems were fine. Get the battery checked out as well. Mine ended up having a bad cell in it so I had to replace both the alternator AND battery at the same time. All problems cleared right up soon after.

Does you battery light turn on or stay on while you drive normally? What about at WOT?

Sorry I forgot to update my profile when I put the s16g on. Still no way I hit 56 psi.

Alternator has new brushes but original 18 year old regulator. No battery light what so ever. Voltage typically 14.2 volts at cruise, will dip to 13.1 or so at idle with rear window defrost on.

In the log the logged value for "packetint" is the first thing that goes out of whack. It goes from 42.7ms to 64.7ms. I do not know what packetint is but it goofed up.

Found this on ecmtunings updates page from 07/28/2010: "Added PacketInt log item to show the time between data packets received from the ECU. This is useful in identifying areas of a log file where you may have saved an update to the ECU as the log file was being captured."

forget about what ecmlink is telling you for now and check all your grounds and power wires, check for anything showing the wire, or cracked, broken, etc then report back if you dont have any luck there.
E: TallestHERETIC could be right, voltage regulator sounds like a likely problem.

I will take it in to the shop tomorrow, and check everything out. But I think this is related to a P0300 code I was getting a couple months ago. Once I got LINK I was able to disable the misfire detection. I have not gotten the P0300 code since but this hiccup would have triggered a P0300 if I would not have disabled it.

One thing I have noticed is that this hiccup happens ONLY on very windy days....Here in Cheyenne, WY that means winds greater than 35 mph sustained with 50 mph gusts. It happens when I drive INTO the wind....putting more load than normal on engine. Typical cruise in this condition is between 5 inhg vacuum and 10 psi boost sustained. Its a 20 mile drive so motor is working pretty hard.

You stay in boost going the same speed? :O thats some crazy winds

As every sensor was affected it has to be a wire that all have in common.....my guess is some sort of ground for the ecu?

How do I check the ecu ground....what wire from battery neg grounds ecu?

Another issue in this log is my HP and Torque readings...

I get occasional spikes, like the one at 12.445 seconds in this log....830 hp and 2016 foot lbs of torque.

All sensors and other readings seem normal but no way my car is even close to a max of 210 hp let alone 830 hp

Yah, here is Cheyenne's weather forecast thru Monday.....notice the 65 mph winds on Sunday.

High Wind Warning is in effect until January 12, 06:00 AM MST
Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Windy, with a west southwest wind 35 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.

Tonight A 30 percent chance of snow after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Windy, with a west southwest wind 30 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.

Sunday A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a temperature rising to near 29 by noon, then falling to around 23 during the remainder of the day. Windy, with a west wind 35 to 45 mph, with gusts as high as 65 mph.

Sunday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Windy, with a west wind 35 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.

Check all your grounds.

There is a ground location at the back of the ECU, that has most of the grounding lines for the ECU.

Just curious, did you do anything to the car before this problem appears?.

Anything that you did before all this start happening?.

It seems I am always tinkering. Just put in new plugs a week ago. This issue only happens about once every couple weeks. Not sure about HP and torque numbers, I typically do not log those.

Checked and rechecked every ground I could find. None seemed to have issues, per ohlm meter. No hiccups on way to work this am, but its windy and my drive home will be a good test.

Well, I think it's solved. Pretty sure it ended up being a communication error between ECU and laptop, probably a USB connection issue.
