MAFT enough for 550's until SAFCII?

Since you are still on stock turbo and won't take a lot of tuning you will be fine just using the MAFT.

yes sir. but why get an safc II? the maft and safc II do basically the same thing. spend a little bit more and go with dsmlink. i have yet to hear one person say they regret buying dsmlink

DSMLink is overkill for 550's. Unless he's planning on stepping up significantly beyond those 550cc injectors and stock turbo, there really is no need to dish out three times as much money. The translator can easily handle 550cc injectors without the assistnce of the SAFC.

well with dsmlink you can do A LOT more than just trick your ecu. you can adjust timing, no lift to shift, shut off individual injectors (in case you have a problem with one), change your stock boost gauge into a knock gauge.. the features are quite extensive. just visit www.dsmlink.com for more information

It depends on his goals. For 550's all you would need is the MAFT, and you can get them used for cheap. Probably 200 for everything shipped. DSMLINK you would need to make sure you have the eprom ecu, then socketed, and finally the DSMLINK. That would be around 600bucks. Again, it depends on his goals.
