Alright I have a 98 Eclipse GSX manual and I plan on throwing a big16g turbo, FIC 650CC injectors, 255 fuel pump, afpr, and fmic. Now I need tuning.

I do not have an s-afc, but the maft says it will compensate for injectors. I Figured I could throw on a maf-t compensate for injectors and just not beat on the car for a few months till I get money togther to get a dsmlink and money for enough hours from a dsmlink professional to tune my car.

IS it possible to just run a maf-t until I am able to afford a dsmlink or should I just be patient. I have my turbo, injectors, fuel pump, afpr, and soon to be fmic on my dorm floor right now. I plan on running a MAFT eventually anywayso its not like its going to be a waste of money.

yes you can run just the maft but remeber it adjust in 5% incriments until you set it up in RPM mode then you can adjust in 2% incriments in 4 different RPM points that ARE preset. its not the best but it will get you somewhere. the SAFC will get you 8 different selectable RPM points at 1%. But I swear on DSMlink. I have owned the following combos for tuning: SAFC and pocketlogger, then added the MAFT, then sold the SAFC and got DSMlink with the MAFT. the last setup is by far superior, not only is the sampinkg rate for tuning thru the roof compared to the ODB-II logger the ease of tuning and the fact that you are actually tuning not just adjusting airflow to compensate for fuel delevery is amazing, on the SAFC and 110 octane I was aroudn -40 to -48 for good O2s and nice 1/4 mile runs but with this set up I was getting up to 22* of timing, with DSMlink, I now run .07 seconds faster and kept timing conserviative at 18*, then when on pump can turn it down to 16* like the ECU would like to see.

Here is the install document for the MAFT, so you can get a idea on what its able to do: http://www.fullthrottletech.com/showthread.php?t=894 And the fullthrottletech forums has some good advice and tech articals on the MAFT since they were the ones who developed it (well full throttle speed).

Cliff notes, yes it will work, your just limited on what it can do and at the RPM points for tuning.
