Hello. I'm going to be in and out of the Madison area often in the next few years because my girlfriend just took a job out here. I had a few questions.
1. Any regular local meets in the area? Car or bike?
2. What performance shops are around, and are they any good?
3. Are there any non oval race tracks around?
4. Is there any sort of street racing scene? I do not participate, but if there is a decent scene then there must be some fast cars around and I just have not found them yet.

A couple buddys of mine know some guys that meet up. Ive only gone up to Madison a couple times with them, so Im not sure when these meets are. Some pretty cool guys. 600+ horse hatch, another civic pushing close to 400. Some Camaro guys, one guy with a Grand National And a couple mustang guys. Then theres me and my 2 DSM buddys. Even if you dont participate in said street racing, its probably best we just not even talk about it on here. What kind of "non oval" tracks are you talking about?

And to the OP, there's not too much going on in Wisconsin right now. Just people drinking beer and still crying over the Packers loss... those youtube videos are hilarious... there is widsm.org though. Might want to check it out.

Hey gents Janesville area here looking for a few other DSM guys to chat with. I have recently bought a 95 talon AWD. I am very new to the scene and really would like to get some advice or just chat sometime. My names Mike and its great to meet some like minded individuals. My car is a build done by another person with less then 100 miles on the drivetrain and motor, and really am in above my head. So that being said I am on a mad research binge learning all I can to get this running properly before I even run it haha. Hopefully I see you guys out there!

i am in the oregon area between madison and janesville, i am usually down in janesville every night cruzing milton av or up in madison on east washington av. i have a 1g talon and iv been looking for other dsmers to maybe start up a meet. My cousin also is the owner of one of the camaros stated above, and i have met kenny a few times, hes a good guy, but if anybody wants to meet up and cruze or talk dsms, shoot me a text at 608-576-6768. i would like to start a meet up maybe every friday or saturday to include not only dsms but just all car guys in genral. i respect other peoples cars and think it would be a fun time to have people with street cars to meet up and just kick it and have a good time.

Milton ave really sucks.. Me and a bunch of the janesville crew like to sit a dunkin donuts and watch all the idiots drive around and get pulled over. Id be down to get a meet or something going. Soon as the weather gets nicer.

yah that is true, but I mean its at least more active then east wash. once it gets nicer id like to get a group together and goo to highway 100, I here theres some nasty cars up there.

I'm about 30 mins north of Madison in the middle of nowhere (about 1000 population) and it should go without saying that I have no "scene" here! I'm not too much into racing or anything but I enjoy cruising and meeting up with other car enthusiasts. I have a really clean 99 gst sitting right now waiting for my clutch to come in tomorrow, and she should be (fun) drivable again. Next month I should have my new wheels and coilovers, and would most definitely be down to start some meets. Right now I have some 18" chrome Enkei wheels that came on the car, and the chrome is peeling badly.. I'm too embarrassed to drive on them!

I will have my talon running sometime soon here. just waiting on a clutch and flywheel. i would really like to get a meet going somewhere in Madison or Janesville areas. Most of the tuner crowds there..the people are really cocky and think they are king shit. i would just like to get a meet going to meet some new people who are dsmers and just kick back and chill.

All you guys are so far south anyone near Appleton Wisconsin? I think it's just me and two other guys up here really. As for a short block, I got one hanging around my garage from a swap I nearly completed. It's a 6 bolt so no crank walk .
