The guy tried to blame it on me and say he had no instructions and did not want to accept full charges.

So, why didnt you ask them why they took it if they didnt know how to do it? Or, why they didnt ask you for instructions if they didnt know how to do it? These guys messed up big time and they are just trying to get you to take up some slack. Tell them to send it to slowboy and have it fixed and they can pay for it all.

You never answered why the turbo was apart if it only had a few hundered miles on it.

Here's my take on the situation. You took apart a turbo for some reason and couldn't put it back on. You think, hey let me take it to a machine shop and have them put it in a press and get it back together.

I want to know who in his right mind told you to use a press to drop the CHRA into the compressor cover? That should be the person responsible, NOT the machine shop. Most machine shops don't know how a turbo is assembled and how little thrust pressure can cause damage. You: "Hey, can you put this in your press and get this thingy to slide into that thingy?" Jethro: "Yup, I can dun do that for ya."

Like I said, be pissed at whomever told you to use a press. I remember this thread a while ago http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=108092&highlight=press
I think dsmracer69 should be the one you're mad at.

OW3ND

If you had numerous people tell you that it should go in with little or no force, one of them owning a reputable turbo shop, and one ass hat just say to put it in a press, then why are you surpised that it broke.

At first I felt bad for you but now its just you ignorance that caused this. sure the machine shop should have asked mor questions, but the turbo should never have been there in the first place. Good luck and I hope you learned a leason.

even though dsmracer69 was the one with incorrect info, he was corrected by a few people. its 92tsifwd's fault for not listening and seeing through the incorrect posts the thread was filled with.

shoulda called sbr and asked what to do.

Exactly. I hope that if this happened with one of my customers, they would call me and ask why it wouldn't go together. I would have had my customer ship it back to me and I would have put it back together, for no charge. I am sure Slowboy would have done the same thing.

Hahahahaaa......

I bet you are waiting for Ashton Kuetcher to come out from under the press machine saying......

"You've Been PUNK'D"

I would only get the shop I bought the part from or maybe even another REPUTABLE turbo shop from these pages touch my turbo I spent money on. You need to stand your ground if they broke it, they fix it.

For your imformation, I called slowboy among others and nobody could tell me why it was not going together before I took it to machine shop. I only took it to a machine shop after trying many other methods that people on this website and others had recamended including slowboy. I said for the machine shop not to put it in a hydralic press and they ignored my instructions. They are agreeing to take full charges. That is the story.

thanks for telling the entire story on the bottom of the second page

Ok turbo is being fixed problem solved... lessons learned.

Good luck building your boost machine

Geeze is that all you guys do is whine. I swear you think your shyt don't stink. Everytime I met another dsmer his car looks and runs like crap, mostly its the guys on here who think they know everything but just read to many tuner mags. It was just a suggestion I posted because of one of my turbo housing inner lip hard to be machined at a shop and they used a hand press to put it back together. No they didn't break it why you ask?, because they didn't use a f@#kin 3 ton press. Some people gotta have alil common sense and think. I might have not wrote all this info down in the other post awhile back but thats because I really didn't care to. Oh and you know whats funny about this site to? You sir are retarded  :D  :D  :D

im sorry but if you took the turbio apart then brought it to the shop and said "can you fix this?" If they said yes and took it off your hands in order to fix it then they are 100% responable. It would be a different story if they returned it in the same condtion you gave them but not worse. It was the shops fault for even talking the turbo that was tampered with in the first place.
