Good thing is since I had some free time I decided to paint my calipers red.
I used the "duplicolor caliper paint kit" from Pepboys.
I think it came out pretty good.
Tell me what you think.
The bad is I could only do the 2 front calipers.
Why, cause I dont have the damn key for the back lug nuts:ohdamn:
When I bought the car I guess it not not include the lug key.
So I have tried hammering in a socket and using an impact drill to get this sucker out, sprayed PB blaster, jamming sockets, jumping on ratchets, chiseling, and it still does not move. I dont see how I can get so freaking pissed of cause of one damn bolt!
So my question is: is there a key I can buy online or some way of getting this damn thing off.
Thanks for your help/input.

Those are very common lug keys, but I doubt the key would work on them any more.
Do you have access to a welder? You could weld a bolt head onto it or something of that sorts.

Other than that you could cut it off with a dremel?

A decently equipped shop will probably have the kit for getting splined lugs, keyed lugs and rounded off lugs off. I have one in my personal tool collection and it has payed for itself in the time it has saved.

Yea I have one of those LOCK LUG NUT REMOVER REMOVAL tool kits.
It's like this one: Ebay LINK
But the socket is to big. Its wierd though cause I used the same tool to take out my lug locks on my 99 eclipse gs which look identical.WTF

12 point 3/4" socket works perfectly. had to do it the other day on my gst

Tried it and that socket is snug.
I hammered it in there real good, tried to get the impact wrench on it and it wouldnt budge. I got a hand ratchet jumped on the end o the handle, i get it moving a little bit, then take a hammer on the ratchet, then took the impact wrench on it. The socket twist off but the damn lug lock is still there.
:notgood:
Guess I will see if the dealer can give me a key..

I'm pretty sure you can just buy a lug nut key, at any auto parts store.

that defeats the purpose of a locking lug nut. that appears to be a factory lug.

as for the hammering on a socket trick, do NOT use an impact. hammer on the socket, then carefully and slowly loosen the lug nut with a wrench. this will prevent the socket from spinning on the nut.

Yea Thats what was happing on the lug nut.
Its way to tight to do it by hand. Even if i jump on the handle of the wrench, I think the socket is just grinding around the lucg nut.

When you put the lug on don't Jump on it. You slowly increase pressure. Then you bounce on it. Jumping on it kinda does the same as the impact wrench. It applies torque rapidly.

Best Idea is finding a friend with a welder and trying to weld a socket to it, then use a breaker bar.

That, or pull the entire suspension off.

I don't see why it has to be from a dealership, any 6 point "star" key should work.
The only difference I could think of is if the side wall on the key is too wide to fit in the wheel.
These here are on e-bay listed as OEM Toyota.

Well I would like to know for sure if the key works on my lug or not. Cause the main reason I dont want to go to the dealership is money. Buying a random key that might work defeats the purpose if they happen to not fit.
