go to napa and get the nitirle reducers...they rock. i got my 3"-2.5" recucers on with wire pulling lube and a shoe horn. I am very weak too, so you have no excuse. you shouldnt have to grind the MAF....

Yeah I got a 5 ply 3" TO 2.5" silicone coupler from Ramchargers and I did everything to get that SOB on. I had to cut my fingernails to avoid having them bent back when the coupler would slip. I used my belt sander to remove probably 1/8-1/4" of material from the MAF. Also had a nice boiling pot of water to drop the coupler into so it could attempt to expand. So everytime I tried putting it on the MAF unit I could burn the living crap out of myself because the coupler would be hot as hell. Well after about 2 hours and attempts with vaseline and a couple other unconvential methods I finally got it. Although I must admit that you wouldn't be able to pay me to do this again! It was a huge PIA and next time I would have gotten a 3.25" coupler and made the thing work. At least I know this isn't gonna blow off!

Just thought the list would like to know my story about the couplers!

I used the 2" to 3" plumbing connectors from Tractor Supply Company to set up my 3.5" in blowthrough. Fit and work perfectly. Also ~$4 each :thumb:

ok well anyways, what kind of tuning would i be looking at with 660's and the 3" maft after my bov? i have a walbro 255 high output pump also.

would i be making my safc2 run the car leaner or richer? and what are the little switches for? what would i set them at?

use a logger to figure this out. No one can tell you what your car will like

The afc can be set whereever you want as long as the the two combined give you the tune you want. Also, read the manual for the switch settings.

Fernco reducers? If so, they will go BOOM on you. Give it time....but maybe you got some good connectors...

I already answered your questions. Did you bother to look? Do us a favor and read the translator instructions front to back twice. It tells everything you need to know to at least get started. After you've read it then ask questions.

Lol so I had 3 other people try to get them on today and they just would not go on so I took the dremel to the outside of the maf on one side and got rid of the tapered edge but no luck suckers wouldnt go on so I was going to smash the thing against the ground when I decided to take the dremel inside the reducers and get rid of the plastic and then I jammed the one on as hard as I could and banged it around and they finnaly started moving up my fingers are red and cut up but the damn things are on and tight I tried to remove it to clean up some of the shavings and dust but they wouldnt come off so I just shoved some fasteners to them and used some sealant for good luck and I am damn glad they are on LOL. Now to put it all in the car and test it out. I would have to say I will never do this again with a 2 1/2 to 3'' reducer.

If anyone cares, I just called dejontool and he said that a 1g with abs with still be able to fit thier blow thru pipe. He said that it might take a little brake line bending, and it will be really tight but it will fit. So within the month I will be another proud owner of a 3" gm maf. I can wait for some bigger injectors, and no safc.

Heres my review of the MAFT + Dejon tools blow thru UIP...

I just installed the Dejon Tool Blow-Thru UIP along with a VPC use Intake and a 3inch GM MAS + Ramchargers Translator. All I can say is wow! It was definetly worth the effort... It feels so much faster and hearing that BOV is so addicting... Even my turbo spools louder and much faster. My big 16G was fairly quiet last week but now it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I havent done any tuning yet since I dont have a pocket logger, but soon I will mess around with those dials... All in all im wonderfully happy with these products, my only problem is with the intake, it doesnt seem to want to connect to the turbo very well... The clamps pulls the intake out of the connector, or the thing just doesnt fit well onto the turbo depending on which side you tighten 1st... Highly recommended! :thumb:

I have the Dejon Blow Thru Pipe on my 92 ABS car...I was the first to test fit it for Dave...

The mas will Barely clear the abs...There is literally millimeters of room between the MAS the abs unit and the abs tubes....the mas can only sit in one way...with minimal options of orientation...The Pipe Comes awfully close to the corner of the abs...be sure to have tight motor mounts...i slipped a piece of rubber in between...and i had to kink on of the ABS tubes...

And if you plan on using a Magnus intake...i suggest you start looking for Non ABS components...since the magnus supposedly moves the tb Postion lower and i believe closer to the battery tray...and there is no space either way to give up...

Although It is a very Nice Piece...and i highly recommend it to anyone...

he makes the pipe 2.5" and for some strange reason has it reduce down to 2.25" to the intercooler....I had him cut it off and reweld it to be 2.5" all the way thru just to match up with my 2.5" intercooler piping...

I Have Pictures In My Profile...

I rounded off the forwardmost corner of my 91 ABS motor housing. It is aluminum and files easily. I took off about 2 milimeters on that corner. I was scared to go further. Its probably just a solid piece, but I am not sure so I didn't go any further.

stock motor mounts are cool just as long as they arent "clanking" :D

You do not need to file down the corner...Although you can if you want...
Or you can just put rubber stoppers on the corner of abs unit...or stick some hard rubber on the pipe itself...

One more option is to not push the lower part of the mas pipe all the way into the 3" coupler...Just push it all the way in and back it out about 1 Inch...gives a bit of clearance from the corner of the abs...as a safety precaution I put some rubber inbetween...

It has been on my car for about 2 months and there are no dent on my pipe or in the rubber...although my Greddy Type R is hitting the abs unit...So I pulled the pipe out of the coupler more and clamped it with a t-bolt clamp and put rubber foam on my abs unit...

Just a little note about Turbonetics silicone hose couplings if no one has addressed this yet. I was at DS Motorsport going through their selection and found the 3.25" sized pieces to fit over the 3" GM maf's with ease. The only problem was, this was a 3" to 3.25" connector. Finding a 2.5" to 3.25" connector will kind of be hard since it's not a normal size you'd find. I don't think DS even carries this at the moment.

Anyway, I guess I'm joining the group of users..... Mas is in hand, translator on the way, couplings to be found still, and upper IC pipe needs to be fabricated.

This is a link to a person on ebay that seems pretty reliable when it comes to silicon nomex hose reducers as well as straight couplers

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/...mpsilicones&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50

I have emailed him regarding reducers of different sizes and he has shown me basic price breaks

20 each would run about $14.00/Ea
40 each the price drops to $12.50/Ea

I don't have the time to be devoted to a GP but this may be what allot of members would want.. if someone would want to pickup the ball and run with it.

Here is his email he just got back from vacation

Just a reminder..... I have 2.5" to 3.5" couplers. And T-bolt clamps upto 8".

I have heard of people having problems blowing the connections off of the dejontools uic pipe with the gm mas. Does anyone know of any other good pipes to use that aren't custom fabricated? Thanks.

Jake

Sorry for the n00b question, but i've been reading this for days now and still trying to figure every thing out. What is a blow through set up? And will the GM MAF translator need adjusted according to ambient air temperature?

How about some pictures of your couplers, curious to see if they have a hump in them. After all, you want a laminar flow.

a: Animosity, this is NOT the classifieds forum. How many times have you posted this?
b: Don't you mean Linear (straight line) not laminar (thin sheet)?

Im selling them and not making any money. I am not trying to sell these in any way. Just if fellow dsm'ers need them I was simply stating I can supply them. Guess I should not have tried to help out the toonerz. Thanks ****.

If I wanted to try to sell shit I would list all of the stuff that we offer. Grow Up and remove your altezza's

Tallen,
I meant laminar. Your misunderstanding of the meaning of the word tells me that you have a long way to go. Keep reading. You might get it someday.

Animosity,
I'm really interested in those pics, if you can PM me with them or post a link or something, I might be interested.
