Hi,

I recently put new rims and tires on the car. The tire pressures that came with the tires were set pretty high, maybe around 35-37, and on my old stock tires I always had it set to like 30-32. Since they are low profile does the tire pressure need to be higher or can I set them to 30-32, or even what the door jam says? Just wondering because my ride has been kind of harsh lately.

Thanks.

Yes, the ride will be more harsh with both higher pressure and less sidewall. I don't know what dropping the pressures will do to the life of the tires (or if there's any thread of driving off a bead), but a couple of weeks of experimentation shouldn't hurt anything.

Yes you have to run a higher pressure, You have half as much sidewall now Unless you like bending your rims on evry bump you hit you need 35 psi plus in your tires. If your at the track its a little different story, track usually are smooth. Also if you run too low pressure the weight of the vehicle rides on the side wall and eats the bead and side wall inside out, I dont think anyone wants to go 100 mph on a tire thats coming apart from the inside out. I run 40 psi in mine..I have 40 series tires.
