Low grip sport tire?

I have a really odd question. I am looking for a tire that has less grip but is still sporty. I know I could just buy some wal-mart cheapy tire but I don't want the sidewall slop associated with those economy tires. My reasoning is I have a 2g GSX and I intend to put a hx40 on. I would like to spin the tires before I break any drivetrain parts since I can't afford the entire set-up right now. I have all the supporting mods. My profile is not totally up to date. I will update it but I work nights and am about to go to bed. I know I could just go to 205s or 215s but I would like a long wearing, low grip (hard compound) sport tire. I know this is an odd request. Thanks

Oh, also, I ma currently in the process of a rebuild but when I'm done a have a set of Kumho Exsta SPT 225,40,18s lined up. I think these might break the axles or CVs before they break traction which I really want to avoid. Thanks!

If i were you i would go to tire rack and look at the rating that they give out for each tire... Pick the worst tire they have and you should be slipping... I have some P6s that i can break loose with my 16g so you could go with them..

go to a couple of tire shops and look for these two factors
1) Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) you want a 400+ the higher the number the harder the compound of the tire
2) Traction grade. this comes after the UTQG. its either AA, A, B, C. AA is the best C is the worst. Problem is that most "low profile" tires have A or AA. Might be time to go get a set of stockies if you want to spin all 4 easily.

Oh and one last thing. The whole breaking things on your AWD burnouts....... Beat on anything too much and it will break. espesially in the HP range your setup is going to be.

I don't intend to do any AWD burnouts. I just want to be prepared for when the boost hits. Before on my Big 16g setup when the boost hit it was a pretty severe increase in power even in 2nd and 3rd gear. I don't want to hit boost my first time out with the hx40 and break stuff. Of course I'll start with the boost as low as I can (1 bar spring on my Tial) then maybe increase it slowly. I like the idea of "just go on tire rack and buy the worst tire". Thanks guys

Are you serious? I had a hx40 on my gsx at 23 pounds in first gear rolling about 5 to 10 mph i would punch it and the car just went and this is on a built 20 over motor.I don't know why you're concerned about breaking something unless you know something is already fubar'd and you just don't want to fix it. tires i was running were 245/45/17 contitouring contact treadwear rating of 360 and had NO spinning... I wouldn't be worried if i were you.

Well, that's reassuring. I was just calculating things and I have a hard time believing that the stock drivetrain could handle 3x the power output they were designed for. I guess I'll just see what breaks and replace as necessary. Thanks all!
