Hey guys i just installed some ARP head bolts my compression was around 145 to 150 in all 4 cylinders before and now about 20 miles later my compression is only

1-118 2-125 3-140 4-150

Why would my compression change like this??? My car still pull hard and doesnt smoke at all.

how fresh is the engine? did you change the HG when you put the studs in? if so what gasket are you using? how thorough were you with your surface prep?

I used the stock OEM composite head gasket. The reason i took the head off was to get the valve seals changed cus they were leaking really bad! The only thing the shop did was changed valve seals and shaved around 8 thousands off to make sure theres no warpage.

Thats what im saying! The bottem end looks to be in great condition. Right before i took the head off i did a compression test and pretty much got 150 across.

Heres some pics of what my bottem end looks like still LOTS of crosshatch for 108 thousand miles.

Hey guys i just installed some ARP head bolts...
Do you mean studs or are they truly bolts?

I did a 3 stage 30,60,80 and after about 8 to 10 heat cycles i just retorqued them this smorning to 90.
Was the engine warm when you re-torqued?

Are you saying you re-used the stock headgasket or replaced it with an identical one? You should never re-use a headgasket.
