I came out to my car today and it wouldn't open. I double checked to make sure I didn't lock the door and as I feared, I had not. The door handle has been loose for several weeks. I was wondering if I could get opinions before I tear apart the door. Do you think its loose linkage or a broken handle? Its really easy to lift. No force at all is really needed to lift it. If its broken I will buy a replacement before I tear it apart.

Thanks everyone.

this is common thing these door handles break all the times

i vote for a broken handle ( no need to tear it apart its only 2 screws one on the side and one in the front and you will see the handle and you will fix it .

I would go ahead and check it out before you buy one...might save you some time...alot of times the metal rod that opens the door just slides out of place an all you have to do is simply put it back.

I vote linkage. Both my handle linkage's went south. I bought new handles thinking that was the culprit. I was wrong, they are not fun to fix, at all. I used a zip-tie in the right spot to repair the linkage (can't begin to describe how).

Ive done both doors 2 times over.
I also have both door handles f'ed up.
The linkage at the bottom of the door where it all comes together has separated.
The bar comes up when you lift but theres a rivet pinching the section together that seems to have separated causing the door to not pop open.
Works all good from inside on both doors.
I pop the trunk then use a hanger to pull the handle.
Thinking of going to door poppers and just shave it.
The handles are cheap and break easily.
Im not a massively strong guy either LOL
