Whats up guys? Im looking for a 2g GSX 5spd, mainly 98-99s. Anyways I got a few questions.

Would you guys either start with a stock gsx, modded or heavily modded gsx, or a gsx with a shot motor? I know starting with a modded one will save me money in the end since I plan on pushing this car pretty far, but Im afraid the car could be someone elses headache. Since I plan on building the motor, maybe I should buy one with an already shot motor to save cash. What do you guys think?

Ive heard a bout the crankwalk issue over and over again when I ask others about 2nd gens. Whats the best way to avoid this problem? Should I swap in a 1st gen motor?

Thanks for the help.

It all depends what you want to do with it. Yeah it's cheaper to buy something already modded but if you have the money to do the mods and know what your doing, I'd buy one without a motor. That way you can swap a 6 bolt into it and go from there. Like you said, sometimes buying someone else's work is just helping them get rif of there headache.

Also, you gotta remember it's a DSM, just about anyone who has owned one, has beat on it to some extent.

My goals with the car would be 400whp+.

How hard are 6 bolt swaps? Id imagine it wouldnt just bolt right up....

if you're planning on doing engine internals I would gind a GSX with a blown motor and start building up a 6 bolt :thumb:
