Looking for a Full Metal Radiator Fan

I Have melted the engine side fan, and I don’t want to replace it with another plastic fan. Having a stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold makes the engine bay hot like hell. There are issues that I know I have to address in order to reduce the heat. I have just bought the ExtremePSI heat-shield. I am also planning on buying exhaust heat wraps for the O2 housing. But a metal fan is also be on my list.

So I was wondering if there is a decent high flowing fan out there that has metal blades.

Ya know, there are plenty of polymer fans out there that will hold up to radiating heat much better than the stock fans. You definitely don't need a metal fan to avoid ruining it with heat. My last header came within 1/2" of my SPAL fans and I never had any issues with them deforming or melting.

With that said, I don't even know of a metal electric fan. The extra weight would also mean that it would require a much larger motor due to a greater rotating mass. That means it would be much more expensive, weigh much more, and it would be less compact. Such a fan may not exist for these very reasons.

Go spal and make the pusher fans if your that worried

I feel ya...I went through three driver side fan blades due to melting them.
I too went looking for a metal fan blade, but had trouble finding one. I went
ahead and had my manifold hi-temp coated, and the melting stopped.

Given where you live, wrapping or coating the manifold, the o2 housing, and
using a heat shield wouldn't be overkill IMHO.

black_gst, a PUSH fan would have been a great idea, but I don't know if there is space with the AC condenser still in place (and badly needed).

edsgst, You made me think of just buy another exhaust manifold like the Fp and get it ceramic coated. I think the heat from the Stainless tubular is robbing my HPs badly. I have the Extreme PSI shield, I hope it will fit on the FP manifold if I decide to get the later. Only then will I attempt to get a plastic fan. I would hate to pay all that doh to get it here, only to see it melting

If you have a tubular manifold, I don't think the heat shield will fit it. Your best luck would be pusher fans, and exhaust wrap or coating. I think the older American cars came with metal fans.

Or hood vents. I just recently installed a fmic & then a week later i did hood vents. My temp gauge hasn't spiked to the 3/4 mark since

Your hood vent looks sick! I need to figure out how to fabricate the same on my OEM. I alway wonder how the vent are designed as not to leak. Can you email me a pic under the vent (inside the hood)?

GSXSixteenG, I must be lucky cause the ExtremePSI shield doe indeed fit on my tubular. I just checked the FP manifold and they say they don't do ceramic coating anymore. It will be a pain to have to buy from them then send it to another place for coating, before shipping down here. I will go with the option of wrapping my SS tubular. That with the shield should be fine, I think.

By the way, I was reading a post by blcknspo0ln stating that he melted four SPAL fans after installing a SS tubular manifold!!
