Logging cable 10k resistor size?

Hi,
I'm making a data logging cable for a 1G for MMCD with a Palm. The 10K resistor specified doesn't say how many watts. Is a 1/2-watt resistor going to be big enough, or does it really need to be a 1-watt resistor? At radio shack the biggest they have is 1/2 watt...

Anyway, I originally tried it with a 1/4-watt resistor but my cable doesn't seem to work. Not sure if that's the reason...anyway thanks for any advice you can give me!

Nevermind, I got it working. I soldered on the 1/2-watt resistor and I changed the baud rate to 2400 on the Palm. Not sure which thing actually got it working, but I'm all set.

I'm not familiar with MMCD but I seriously doubt any 10k resistor would be more than 1/8W. Especially if it's just a pullup which I would guess it is.

How do you change the baud rate? I cant not get mine to connect, I have it all hooked up and soldered correctly but it will no connect.
Just trying to get my darn logger working. Is any one from central NY know how to set one up

There's a setting in my Palm Pilot--I read somewhere that MMCD communicates at 1953 baud, don't know if that's true, but I changed my baud rate to 2400 in my Palm and now it communicates. Not sure if that's what got it to communicate or if it was changing the resistor. I also unsoldered everything and did it over again, so it's possible I had a short somewhere.

BTW, in the Palm, the baud rate is under Prefs, then select Direct Serial>Edit>Details.
