LM-1 owners

I am strongly considering purchasing an LM-1 unit from innovate. Before I buy it I want to ask a few questions to help me better understand what is involved in installation. For the rpm converter: how is this hooked up in a 2g? do you just tap into the tach wire on the ecu? I have no idea on how this setup would work. I am looking at the online manual for it now and do not understand the wiring. Any other input about the unit would be appreciated! Thanks

Yes you can come off the tach wire, or you can buy the spark plug wire clamp for a few extra bucks. The lm-1 is great, but only if you plan to datalog with it. The box is too big to put anywhere, and it does not come standard with a gauge. I wish i had gone with the aem.

you have to have the spark plug wire clamp to read rpm? you cant just tap into the tach wire and plug it into the LMA-2?

Yes you can on our cars, some do not have a great enough tach signal to do that. Also you have to calibrate the lma-2, it's not just as simple as splicing and plugging in.
