I have been observing a difference in two coolant temp monitoring systems.

Link is always running 4 to 8 degrees warmer then my defi A-piller gauge.

The defi was professionally installed by englishracing, the temp prob was nicely installed in the upper metal elbow that the upper radiator hose connects to.

Link was also installed by englishracing. Also, the ecu temp sensor is rather new. So I do not think it is an issue of being incorrectly installed.

The defi gage reads 193 to 196, while link reads 200 to 203.

I am running a 170* thermostat, 30/70 coolant to water mix, one slim fan and one stock fan. Any ideas one what gage is most accurate?

Pics are of burping the coolant system, that car had been idling for about 45 mins at that point. Defi was 191, link was 196. Cruz temps are off about the same. Defi 196, link 203.

My standalone coolant temp gauge also reads cooler than ECMlink, and also around 4-8 degrees difference. I'm using a Greedy water temp gauge.

Interesting.

It's starting to bother me. I have put effort into getting my intake and engine temps down and steady.

My stand-alone sensor consistently reads lower temps, and it is more stable. Im runing 188 to 197 during during all driving conditions.

Link is 188 to 206. Ill see it jump from 200 right to 203. Or 203 to 206. I dont want to have any issues with link pulling timing becuase its seeing incorrect temps. If my stand-alone is never above 195/199.

Edit: see that the sensors are located very close to eachother now, invalidates my previous statement.

Suspect sensor differences and/or gauge calibrations. Could always put a new stock temp sender in and see if you get changes?

Resistance in your stock wiring will also cause issues.
