Hey guys having a little issue.

Car is a 1995 TSI AWD , with a 1g 6 bolt engine swap, 16g , fmic etc.

Coolant temp on dsmlink gets up to 219 Not more (as of yet , drove it hard and easy ) , gauge is at normal spot , little below mid way.

What can be causeing this ? I must be below 210 so I dont pull timing correct?

I have an exhaust leak at the o2 housing, causing the engine bay to be really hot. Would this increase my coolant temp ? My mix is 50/50.

Possible I have bad mix , would that cause this?

My fmic blocking to much air to the rad?

Your coolant temp has two sensors on the t-stat housing. One goes to the ECU and reads the coolant temp and one goes to the dash.

The smaller one is the dash sending unit and the bigger sensor goes to the ECU. Sounds like you have a bad sensor going to the ECU.

When you first start your car does it sputter for a little while until it's warm?
Do you have any CEL? Usually you'll get sensor failure, or too long to go into closed loop mode failure.

When the temp sensor goes bad, it usually reads 219F constant. Mine did this a few times. Also, I noticed really shitty gas mileage because the ECU is stuck in open loop.
