limp mode problem

Okay tried searching but could not find it. This is for my uncle's car and I don't know anything about it because it's a auto and I have never had one. Okay the 5 wires under the center console that go to the shifter. Where do they go? His was all stripped and he needs to know which wires go where. The colors to the wires are G/W, G/R, Black, R/W, BL/W. He told me that they run from a connector that is right in front on the ECU all the way back to the shifter. If someone has a clue at which wire goes to which spot it would help out a lot, thanks. The two he really needs to know is the R/W and BL/W. Which one goes on top?

Thanks man, but all he really needs is to know what wire goes to what. When he took it apart three of the wires had been cut. So all he needed to know is if the red and white wire goes on top or does the Black and white. A shop had already replace the ECU and the TCU. When he took it apart he found the 3 wires cut in the center console that went to the shifter. He told me that all the rest you can tell what they plug into but two of the wires are the same length and he doesn't know.

I am looking at my old auto shifter and the two wire of that color go into a white connector , the wires go in the two bottom slots in the middle.

Hey I think your on the right track but he needs to know on the other side. He needs to know about the button. ECO/PWR button. What wire goes to what. From what he just told me it's the wires that come from the plug to the power button. Anyone know. I think he should just plug it in and see what happens. Trial and error.

Inside of shifter assembly there are the same color wires which lead to the OD (over drive) button with a Y/W wire along with them. For the power/economy switch the B/W and R/W attach to the base of the button it should be easy to figure out which go were, and the other wires that are with it go to the cigaret lighter.

That is what I said, but he told me that one goes above the other and he doesn't know which one goes to what. He said those two wires are the same length so he doesn't know what they should plug into. I think I'm going to tell him to buy a chiltons and figure it out.
