limp mode, no code

Im completely stumped at this point. Trans is in limp mode, thats for sure. But the TCU isnt throwing any codes, just the usual functioning signal. The trans also clanks where shifting from park to reverse. All the mounts, linkages and conections are fine. What other problems would be causing this?
