I tried looking through Google for this, but so far I haven't found what I'm looking for, possibly because I don't know how to word it properly.

Anyway, I'm needing to know how to wire lights to be on when a switch is naturally off, then turn off when the switch is on so that a different set of lights turns on. I know I should already know how to do this, but for the life of me can't remember what needs to be done for it.

Get a 5 pin relay. Wire one set of lights to the normally open terminal. These lights will toggle on and off WITH the switch. Wire the other set of lights to the normally closed terminal. These lights will toggle on and off OPPOSITE of the switch.

Sure, but you'll have to modify the existing circuit to accommodate the relay. It would help if you could describe what these lights are for. Also, how are the lights wired currently? Are you simply running them directly to a switch?

On each DSM I get, I change all the interior lighting to red LEDs since it's better than the crappy orange these cars came with, and it's not horribly bright like other colors (I had laser eye surgery years ago, so red is great for my eyes). I've been wanting to change this up to where my gauges glow white during the day so they're easier to see, and then switch to red when the light switch is turned on, while turning off the white at the same time. So I want to keep this linked into the oem light switch instead of adding another that isn't needed. Modifying the circuit to add a relay isn't a problem, and I knew I'd have to add one somewhere anyway.
