Level 10 Tranny.. Transdude help!

Well ok heres whats going on.. I purchased my car about a 2 years ago and it came with a built Level 10 tranny,restalled converter,shift kit and what not all done by level 10..the seller showed me the recipt and it said he spent 3grand with them. So I thought it was all good never gata worry bout the tranny its bulletproof as they advertise. Well I put a big16g,550s,dsmlink,and runnin like 12psi and I would pound on that car all day long and never had a problem with it everything was perfect. Then obviously I wanted more power so I got everything you see in my mod list on and after driving it for a few days after those mods the tranny was great but after I started racing turning up the boost to like 19psi and one day the tranny slipped on me! Boy was I pissed but for a while it was fine then after a couple races later...My tranny is acting soo werid its not totally effed up cause i can still drive but when Im like at a stop and then i hit the gas it will rev to like 2200rpms then it start moving..other problems are that when i start it up from not driving for a while it will run like crap like ill have the thing floored and it will climb so slowly then once it hits like 4k it will like shift hard and then i will hawl ass. Somtimes it will like stay in a certain gear and wont shift when i know it was supposed to at that moment. Its like all the shifting is off. the car usually downshifts itself as i slow down to a light due to the shift kit but recenly it will shift so hard it feels like i slammed on my breaks very hard. Well it seems like the tranny is about to go. I just wanted to know what transdude or any of u auto DSMers might know specifically would be the case and not that my tranny is simply broke.
 
do you tranny oil temp gauge or an external oil cooler. Stock tranny or bulletproof tranny, heat will still kill an automantic tranny. Take a look at your tranny oil and see if it smells like burnt hair also if the oil has some grit in it. If your oil smells or even has grit in it then your clutches my be fried. Also youve had that level ten tranny in for however long you had the car, how was your maintenance on the tranny? Severe driving would need the filter/oil to be changed atleast every 15k-20k maybe 10k-15 if you really really beat on it.
 
u said oil should be changed?? u mean tranny fluid right??? its been maintained pretty well I have only put 10k miles on this car since i have owned it and the guy said he did all the necessary fluids and filter change. I hope its just the clutches and not to the point where i have to rebuild the whole tranny. that would suck school is just around the corner! :cry:
 
If the clutches are fried then your looking at another rebuild anyway. Check the tranny oil and see if it smells like burnt hair or if it has any grit in it.

Your first course of action should be to check the fluid level in neutral. Next, you will want to see if there are any codes in the TCU.

In any case, it does sound like there is internal transmission damage.

ahhh damn rebuild it is...Ill check up on it thanks man..Well im gonna be ordering a rebuild kit then and obviously not from level 10 :thumbdown I was gonna order the the IPT one for 449 but my cousin says he can get a Alto Red or something like that kit for cost around 350 bucks locally. Is the IPT kit comparable to the Alto kit? LOL i know u own ipt Transdude but was just wondering if the alto kit was good or not. Thanks fellas

I no longer carry any Alto products (and I wont go into the reasons here).

I will try to dig up pics of my Alto clutches and they were the high end ones. Some may be blessed and have great luck with them but mine were FUBAR. Alto is still good and maybe my case was a fluke, but I also heard of Russell Cox having some issues as well. Take it for what it is worth, if you are going to give the car hell there are some better choices and IPT has them.

and Russell Cox has his trannies done at IPT too. He has gone in the 10s with the IPT setup.
