legacy subs any good?

Never heard of them but all I can say is you get what you pay for. I can't see a 15" sub that costs only $70.00 being very high quality.

I wouldnt waste your money. it says it's rated at 2400W, but doesnt specify whether that's RMS or PEAK.. it could be like, 100W RMS for all you know and you'd blow them on your first shot. Also, why do you want 15" subs?

i've never seen a use higher than 12's and you can get GOOD 12's for a decent price

they're only 300W RMS, which isnt the greatest thing on the planet, but a couple of them with a decent amp will hit nice and hard and not sound like complete crap.

i've owned a few legacy subs, they weren't bad, until they blew up. bottom line, the sound good, but they don't handle near the power they are supposed to and the voice coils aren't wound well, and the speakers aren't designed well. from my experience all the legacy subs that i have owned died because the voice coil overheated because the subs weren't designed to cool the voice coil that well.

MA Audio makes decent products, and i like these for the price:

If you don't have to get 15's, then i would suggest 2 of these subs, as they kick butt:

I would buy the hifonics way before the MA audio's.

DO NOT GET THOSE. If you want good sound get either eclipse or orion subs. I think Cardomain is having a huge sale on orions still. And you can get low end eclipse on ebay for like 80 bucks which is a good deal.

I personally prefer the Orion H2 but i dont know if thats necessary

1 audiobahn Eternal 12" sub with a audiobahn 1300HCT amp, and 2 1-farad caps.

thats my setup, and holy mother of god. with my rear seats up/closed trunk(i have a 02 stang gt btw) it pounds. with the seats down(open trunk, sub pounding into cabin), it makes me ears tingle and hair inside nose and head vibrate.

people who will say audiobahn sucks are those that have never truly heard a proper a-bahn setup. i thought my box or amp wasnt right, cause my sub wasnt hitting as hard as a top of the line sub should, then my audiobahn rep discovered i had it wired wrong, and he swapped 2 wires around, and said it was running 8ohm before, and now was running at 1ohm. apparently i did the same mistake alot of people do, and wire the subs like every other sub out there(series) when theyre supposed to be wired parralell. or something to that effect.

Make sure the amp you are using is 1 Ohm capable otherwise you will burn it up over time.

kicker solo's are garbage unless you want a system to be loud and that's it. they only respond up to 100hz, and that's just way too low. if you only listen to rap, or you want a really really loud system and don't care how it sounds, solo's are the way to go. if you want to stay with kicker, their comvr subs are really good. honestly the two subs that i mentioned earlier is what i would go with. they are both 100% reliable and sound great.
