I have a 98 gsx, mods are 50 trim, 780's, FPR, 255 and dsmlink v3. I am having issues on a cold startup. It will take a few cranks inorder to start the car. Once the car has started it will idle fairly rough and lean. After a minute or so the car will start to idle normally and will stay at its correct AFR. This only happens when the car has sat for a while or over night. I am only running a AEM wideband with no o2 sensors(both have been deleted). Is there something i can do on dsmlink to richen the fuel mixture on startup or could it possibly be something else?

Thanks

No clue about DSMLink settings, but how's the coolant temp sensor look? Can you see what it's reading in DSMLink? And I'd think you could richen it up for a cold start, but we'll have to wait for some DSMLink experts to chime in... The other thing I'm wondering about is the o2 sensor you mentioned. Is it hooked up to the computer so it knows what's going on?

Have you checked to make sure your global and deat time settings are correct?

It sounds like a fuel issue and if your settings are right I would replace the fuel filter then go and check the injectors.

I have replaced both the coolant temp sensor and switch but the problem still occurs. I have 780's so what should my dead time and global be? I have dead time set to 315 and im not sure about global i would have to go check it out.
I also logged my coolant temp on dsmlink and it is at 226 and does not change whether the engine is cold or hot..... any ideas?
Thanks

Well, yeah...a locked coolant temp reading will cause all kinds of problems, particularly cold start issues. The ECU doesn't know the engine block is really around 80F at startup if the coolant temp sensor is reading 226F.

Go into the ECU Inputs tab and check to see if the "lock coolant temp" checkbox is checked or not. If it is, clear it. If it's not, post a log showing this rough start. Let the log run from engine start until the problem clears up (engine warmed up a bit).

Unchecked the "look coolant temp" box and it fired rightup:thumb:

Thanks!
