Well ladies and gents, im stuck and am calling on the help of my fellow tuners. Issue at hand is a lean mixture between 1000 and 3000 rpm. Its also very sluggish down there when I hit the gas. Kinda like a 1-2 count after hitting the gas before the car actually starts moving. It sounds like its winding up, but just wont go anywhere until 3k.

So heres the list of mods that I think are relevant. From back to front as follows:
Walbro 255 w/ 6an fitting
6 AN line to AEM Fuel Filter (Big one)
SS lines from filter to AEM Fuel Rail
FIC 750cc
SS line from Rail to Aeromotive FPR
Stock return line.
DSMLINK v3

Everything is new (1000 miles) except the AEM Fuel Filter, Fuel Rail, and Injectors which were all used on previous builds for a couple thousand miles. The Filter has 800 miles on it from PO.

Ive gone in and added fuel in link at 2000 all the way to 3500 rpm and it kinda helped, not really though. Also pulled the rail and put new FIC seals/orings. Boost leaks are all fixed except one small one coming from the oil fill cap.

Ive got a hunch that its my tune. I got the car tuned on stock fuel rail/filter/fuel line and after I upgraded to the AEM parts and 6 AN I also threw in a couple of powdercoated parts. Well I didnt tighten the VC down nearly enough and the type S bov was pouring boost from every bolt hole but I didnt find this out until I went in and pulled timing because I was getting knock. So I pulled timing blah blah blah, fixed all my boost leaks (stupid) and im making less power with NO knock, but a lean mix in lower RPMs. After 3k it clears up and accelerates at 14-15AFR and 11.0 at WOT.

All ive done so far is go back in and add fuel all the way across the board because with the new fuel components it was running lean even after fixing the boost leaks.

Where i fked up was assuming that since before paint, nothing leaked, and that after paint there shouldnt be any leaks and ruled out a boost leak from the get go and started messing with the tune instead.

Also, could it be because my fuel filter is mounted at a slant? Should it be either up and down or horizontal? Idk, just throwing some ideas around.

Currently it bogs when starting off in 1st gear and will shoot lean (18-full lean) for a moment before it is corrected and then continue to be sluggish until 3k RPMs where it will smooth out and drive fine.

What do you guys think? Anyone had this problem? I really dont want to go back to stock filter/rail because the new gear looks so good and needs to be sorted out so a big turbo can slide on in... but at the same time I hate to see the poor car struggle :/

Sorry for the small story, got rX'd some painkillers and its just pouring out haha ROFL

edit: i can post a log but I do not have my wideband set up for logging w/ DSMlink yet, so if that is a necessity then it may be no help.

What settings did you use for the new injectors? Have you checked your fuel pressure?

I was hoping you would see my post :p

As for the injectors' settings, you need to know the global deadtime they are set at? I will go check, brb. And yes the FPR is set at 43 psi.

One thing that I am unsure of is my fuel feed line. It is 6 an from the pump to the filter, however it was measured incorrectly and I have probably an extra 2 feet of line coiled up (no kinks) underneath the battery tray mount. Its all secured very well with no interferences but will the extra couple of feet of line mess with the delivery of fuel? I would have just cut it off and refitted but the fitting was frogola'd on, so i would have to pull the entire line off to have it snipped and refitted with the fragola machine.

Global Fuel: 35.5
Global Deadtime: 315
