Leak Test And Other Stuff Need Lil Help/Advice

hey all , i have some other questions. i did a oil change with oil treatment,spark plugs, and oil filter. when i 1st got the car in park the rpm's would jump hard now it just idles at 1500 rpms and barely jumps. was wondering what that could be.
and, i plan on buyin timing belt,water pump,and headgasket kit, but im goin ###### this monday comin up to have a leak test done, if they do a leak test will it test if anything is wrong with the headgasket like a leak or anything?. if not i might as well pay 75 for a hr,then 75 for another hr if they dont test all leaks.

i just looking for a answer if they test it all

when i change the timing belt do i have to drop the engine a lil bit, under a jackstand to get the belt off and new one on?

a vaccume leak can cause a high idle. Do a search on high idle and/or idle surge.
Are they doing a boost leak test, or a compression test?

When you change your timing belt you will have to remove the front motor mount, and drop the engine down a little. I would recommend changing the timing belt tensioner.

the boost seems fine, just the idling, so when i take it to xtreme performance, a compression test will check the head gasket for leaks right?

and thanks on the timing belt deal and i will get a tensioner too.

that is the tensioner pulley, I'm talking about the hydraulic tensioner

thanks man i will get 1 of those. i think im goin to see if my best friends dad will do all this, he been working on cars since he was 16 , and i seen him rip motors apart and put them back together.

1 more thing before i add everything up and spend 500 bucks . how do i know if i have a 6 bolt or 7 bolt , i got a 92 talon tsi awd turbo.

Look at the production date. Before 5/92 it's a 6 bolt, after that 7 bolt.
