I like how everyone gives advice but no one says their 60ft times exactly.

I rev to 6000rpm and let the clutch out semi quick, not dump but once it start to grab and go i let it out faster while giving gas.

My best 60ft was a 1.65 on a stock center diff. Now i have a 4spider and a tre tranny in the mail (friday the thing should be here) and i have a lightened flywheel now and new clutch so things might change a bit but if i dont get a 1.69 or lower im disapointed with my 60ft. high 1.6's is where i normaly am.

5k rpm on my studderbox, slip the clutch out quick enough to not burn it up, but slow enough to not bog the engine down. Reach the 60' and shift. I pull 1.7x's every time a few 1.6's if I do it perfect. I'm not sure if this is archived on this forum but a lot of people have answered this question, I even think it is on Buschur's website.
I did. :thumb:

best thing i can say from wat i learned in the 3000gt vr4 was to tach it up to 5500-6500 (bounce it) and slip the clutch and let the shit fly. i dont know how effective this would be on a dsm but its wat worked for me. i was cutting low 1.6's all the time only 2 1.5's. but its pretty simple just try practicing in a open parking lot thats what i did. and i got it down pat.GOOD LUCK

probably going to get flamed, and yes I know I'm lucky for not breaking anything. I rev it to about 5500 and then let the clutch out quick and stomp the gas. intake, MBC @ 13psi and exhaust are all i really had at the time, still on stock clutch. I ran a 14.075

personally i dumped it all last year with streets and a 2100 justed rev till about 5 making a litte false boost but i think after 4 trannys(3 in one month) i'm going with a dr's and 2600 and slippin a bit....LOL still got about 1.82 1.79x 60's every time

5000rpm stutterbox, ACT 2600, slip the clutch and hammer the gas at the same time. Looking at my logs, it takes me .3 seconds to go from 50% throttle (5k stutterbox), to 100% throttle. That's my "slipping the clutch". Early in 2003, on stock 157k suspension, and Discount Tire house tires, I was cutting 1.63-1.65 short times. Upgrading my rear shocks to AGX (but still set on 1), and Eibach pro-kit springs all around, and installing the Green Dot Retreads, I've been able to cut numerous 1.58 60's using the exact same technique.

This was all done in a car that weighed approx. 3100lbs w/driver. Everyone launch technique is different. But I will tell you this. ONLY listen to the people that have actually gone to the track and have decent 60's times to post. All the other people giving advice, but have never been to the track....well....kinda like someone telling you how to fish, when they have never caught a fish in their life. LOL

I usually rev up to 5000, quickly pull the cluch out and stomp on the gas as the clutch comes out. I haven't been to the track yet to time any 60', but it feels good every time.

2600, streetlight flywheel, shep tranny, 3 bolt rear

That helps a lot. So, if/when you go to the tracks, and pull off a few 2.0 60's, should we still take your advice on how to launch an AWD car?

My car= high milage. 150k.

I always think it's gonna break when I launch.

ACT 2100+6000rpms+quick release(not dump bet let it out quick)=1.76 60' with a 14.4ET. That's a good 60' if you ask me and my car holds up great. I actually spin all 4 tires a little on my launch, just enough to keep the rpms above 4800 or so throughout the very beginning of first.
haha about the same for me tooexcept my best is a 13.2
