Knocks like crazy at 4000 rpm in 2nd gear

A couple days ago I went to get on my car and my check engine like came on indicating knock due to my set up with DSMlink. The car was bucking pretty bad this time and i let off soon as I saw it. I believe this was some pretty bad knock possible detonation. It was one of the first really cold days this year so i figured the timing may have over advanced itself for the whether but then yesterday I tried getting on it again in second to see what would happen. The car didn't knock or anything it felt dog slow though so I looked at the boost gauge she was only pushing 8 pounds the day it was knocking it was running 17 pounds and the fuel is tuned for that so I pulled off the intake tube and looked at the turbo there was oil on the compressor housing and alittle on the inside of the intake pipe. I'm just curious on whether the turbo going bad and oil getting into the engine could possiblly cause the knock(detonation) that I had experienced the day before. If anyone has experienced similar problems with their car or knows what I am trying to explain please help me out. Unfortunately I dont have the reading from DSMlink handy being as how I dont have my own Laptop to save it all too. Thank you in advance for the help.
 
I do that was the first thing I took out and looked at I just wanted to see the condition I put them in about 1 month ago. Normal burn but spark plugs might cause the knock but I dont know if they would cause a 10 lbs. loss of boost such as I also go with this problem. I'm going out there to throw another 14b back on just because thats my main suspect is the seals in the turbo went bad and allowed oil to enter the engine and the oil burnin to early or to hot was the knock i heard felt and saw. and the oil on the compressor housing is just tellin me to replace it even more. Thanks for the help I'll let you know what happens tommarow or maybe later today I'm going to check to see if anyone else has any other ideas or if anyone would agree with mine. Thanks
 
So problem solved I was out ther going to replace the turbo when Noticed that the metal ring that sits between the manifold and the turbo had fallin in. It was bent in half I assume that the boost caused it to fold up and fall in blockin some of the boost from gettin through aswell as caused some knock. So I pulled that Piece out left it out this time cause it dosnt sit so well with the exhaust housing ported. Then I put it all back together and test drove it no knock and back up to 17PSI. :thumb:
