Where can I find these two wires? Is that all I would need to tap into for just the keyless entry to work? Heres the wiring diagram and the highlight of the two wires Im talking about:

the wires you need are to the right side of the steering column.
the lock wire is brown with a blue stripe.
the unlock is a brown with a white stripe.

they are both negative trigger, in other words when the keyless brain sends a ground pulse to that wire, it will trip the relay and lock or unlock the doors :)

Its a 1990 talon, not a 1998. Ill try wiring it up in a bit and tell you how it goes. Would I have to disable the factory alarm to use this? I think I might have to

have you found your wires yet, if not let me know i am mecp certified and might be able to help, i also have a 90 gsx with a clifford ace that i installed

Havent found em yet, I just got back form babysitting ( I know I know, but it funds the dsm addiction) so I havent had time to check it yet. I did pinpoint it later with the service manual, but I cant get the freakin relays out of the way. I can see what general area its in, but I just cant fish it out

Ill try tomorrow when Im awake :D

The lock control is in the passenger side kick panel. But, the wires you are looking for are just to the left of the steering column up through the bottom. There is a black plastic strip holding 3 relays? with two screws. Pull that down, and you are looking for the blue/brown wire and the white/brown wire. Ground those two to figure out which one locks and which unlocks, then tap in your wires.

As far as your factory alarm goes, unless it only arms with the key, you may have to disconnect it. I don't have it on my car so i couldnt tell you, but its easy enough to hook up those two wires and find out.

PM me with problems

Does anyone have a more detailed description of where this wire is located? I tapped into a wire that fits this description but its not the right one. Also is there a wire I can tap into that controls my interior lights, the ones that come on when the headlights and park lights are on. Maybe a picture or something of the green/white wire because I am clueless.

Talk about bringin back from the dead

I have yet to install my alarm, since my soldering iron busted. Ill probably just wire it in right next to the stock anti theft module, since the wires are easily accessible there.

thanks for the help now I can finish wiring everything up. I just got this great idea today about all this wiring stuff. Someone should write up a step by step process on how to wire something like this up, taking pictures of all the connections and all that good stuff, because Im sure there are alot more people out there like me that run into all these problems. :thumb:

I finally got it figured out. I had to use a relay to change the polarity of the wire from the alarm. After about three blown fuses, and a lot of "choice" words everything worked.
