When i take out my key, the light around my hey hole stays on along with the door open light (my hatch is plasma cutted for weight reduction). This in turn, drains my battery down slowly but surely. I have no clue where to start to fix this problem. Someone please help a brotha out on this so i don't have to take it to mitsubishi and get raped.

The hatch switch i believe was cut out or something when the dude gutted the car.

What would cause the key ring light to stay on?

When you close the door on my 91 - the interior lights & key Ring light stay on for almost a minute then fade to off. You need to check out what he did with the Hatch Switch wires.

pin switches hmmm cant think up the words :barf: try jiggling them up and down. my driver side one is really crappy and wont ever turn on my dome light or the ring. but what i dont get is if i leave the key in and open the door the buzzer goes even the the switch is "pushed in". is there 2 door switches? cuz itd be shut if its in and the door adjar light isnt on? be happy we can just turn the dome lights off :thumb:. or you can pull the fuses and forget about it

Someone please confirm or deny this for me but I seem to recall that the Interior Lighting Fuse is also the source for ECU Power when Ignition is Off - SOOOOOOO>>> pulling that Fuse would be equivalent to resetting ECU every time you cut car off... If it's not the Interior Lighting Fuse it definitely is one of the under Dash Fuses...

I disconnected the plug at the hatch, it did the same thing.

Next, I pushed in the door switches manually, tried jiggling them, i think i saw the light flicker a bit on the driver side. This weekend, i will pull the wiring and jump it to see if it will solve the issue.

I'll post how it goes after this weekend.
