So I am rebuilding my 1g.

I have Kelford 272's with stainless steel valves, Crower springs, titanium retainers and my bottom end is going to be built with JE pistons 10:1, I beam rods, ACL coated bearings, ARP main studs and head studs, Cometic head gasket. I have the new HTA68 with the new Tial MVS external gate, Tial BOV all the good stuff.

I just want to know what is easier to tune with DSMLinkv3 or AEM EMS? Also to get the most out of my setup?

ECMLink is by far easier to tune with, especially if you plan to do it yourself. AEM EMS has slightly more capabilities if you really know what you're doing, but there isn't much ECMLink can't do for you these days. I would just go with that being as it's fairly easy to learn and there is a huge amount of support for it, both on here and the Link forum.

Definitely ECMlink. It's been proven past 1000 hp. There is a tremendous amount of support for it.

yeah i was going to just have a local guy tune it for a moderate tune to break in the motor before i get up there in the boost! but i want to run E-85! does ecm link have this option to keep the modrate tune but also have the E-85 tune? like the option to switch from one to another?

ecm-link full kit 495.00+ tax or aem 1299.99 to 1890.00 OMG

As far as switching from e85 to 93 i think you can tune the can on e85 and save it then tune it on 93 and save it and its just uploading the new tune when u want..:thumb: im not 100% but i think thats how it works.

Ive been watching the video' on ecm link and it looks pretty simple once you learn the graphs and the basic's of laying a tune out.

thats just the softwear and cable man haha i still need a 90 eprom with the v3 chip right? and injectors.... thats bout another what 5hundo?!

As far as switching between e-85 and pump gas it's about as simple as running the tank down to closer to empty, filling up with whatever gas you want to run, then plugging your computer in and flashing over the map for that fuel.

ECMlink is what I'd use. Cheaper, easier, and you have WAY more support.

What are your goals? That will help determine what injectors to run, remember with e-85 you're going to need larger injectors (850cc's or so for a 16g on e-85).

That includes the chip , cable , software , and a ton of great tech support. you'll have to get injectors and eprom if you don't already have them . but you can send your old ecu and they can do the eprom conversion for like 165 bux . of course you'll want to verify that.

Definately use ECMlink. It is by far the most user friendly tuning software for a dsm that is worth anything. And in perspective, it is very cheap. You can run multiple tunes and upload them any time.

for instance, one tune for pump gas and one for e85. or one for economy, one for power, or even one to blow flames out the tailpipe :hellyeah: LOL

im goin to get fic1000s i figure that shuld b enough to suport 20-24lbs..... on e-85 my goal is to atleast break into the 12s mid 12s... i also just bought fuel pressure regulator with steel braided lines all the way frm the winebrow haha annoying ass 255fp LOL with 10:1 comp. and the new hta! i think i shuld b good!

I have a brand spanking new 1G EPROM ECU that I was going to use to tune with DSMap. I've since changed my mind and decided to sell my Talon. Let me know if you're interested.

ECMlink for sure. I use it and am bout to switch to e85 as well. Many success stories i have heard. Unless you have the cash to go EMS, then do it. HA I've been told EMS frees upp soooo much more power if you have the right tuner

Thats the problem though, for the majority of people that want to tune their car themselves or learn how to tune then EMS might be too complicated.

That is completely true. I'm from STL and when I do switch to e85, i thought about going to EMS but that's gonna take some more thinking. If I do switch to EMS, i'm gonna have to take the drive to AMS or Strictly Modified.
