Hey guys,
I have been told by several of my buddys at a outdoor nightclub for car enthusists about DSM. They mentioned the DSM community alot and what its all about. So ive been doing my reasearch and ive decided to get one. Ive narrowed it down the a 95 Eclipse but im not sure which im better off stock. I know the GSX is AWD so i should get a better launch off the line but the GST should have more high end power so maybe im better off?! I have about 15K to spill into it...I dont rele need it to run 10s nd 11s..tho it would be nice but im not expectin it since im new to it. I just want to have a quick car so i can put the rest of those hondas to shame. What ever you guys can fill me in about DSMs and which eclipse im better off with would be much appreciated.

Well you could always look at the tuning guide and see what kind of setup you can afford for what car. A 1g awd would cost less and leave more money for parts. If you like the 2g cars and want awd Talons cost less and are more common than the GSX. If your budget is like mine, don't get caught up in some big swap scenario. Unless you come across a 2g car with a 1g setup in it. Those are pretty good platforms too. :dsm:You can even find semi-tuned cars sometimes for less than a stock DSM and get a head start on upgrades. If you can't hold out for an awd DSM to turn up, do not underestimate those GS-T's. Even with a little wheelspin they come back at you in 2nd an 3rd gear.

the wheelspin doesnt bother me with the FWD i used to do it my dads cadillac sts with the traction control off. :sneaky: but yeah since i first drove a FWD car i like them alot more then a AWD so i am leaning towards a GS-T. Im looking through the tech guide and im am goin to follow it by the books starting out with the "stage 0"LOL.then i will move on so forth from there.

Yeah I'm looking for an awd DSM myself :dsm: . I've been saving all my cash until I get get one so I'm not modding up my RS any. In fact I've been selling parts off of it. I am so sick of not having any power! Even when I had a turbo on my RS it was slow  .

Just my two cents, i recently purchased a GSX a year ago and will never go back to a FWD car again. AWD launches are just amazing and when the winter rolls around boosting around in the snow is fun as hell too. Just my opinion.
