Its tax return time and i've decided to blow it all on my car. So i have a few questions,
I'm was planning on getting an intake and i am undecided on a simple kn fipk or an injen intake with the pipe. How much power and noise do you really get out of the injen intake pipe over the stock rubber one. Is it worth all that extra money? And for the big money spender I need a new clutch. I was thinking about a sbr 3500 or act 2600 but after all the horror stories I am afraid, so now I plan on buying a spec stage II. I have done a lot of research but if anyone has any opinions or horror stories or links please let me know. Thanks.

Just go ahead and get the injen with the k&n air filter. Basically an intake will be an intake and you won't notice a performance gain switching from pipe to pipe. Getting rid of the stock intake is nice but the main thing you want, is a good filter. Your not going to notice a ton of performance with a stock turbo. Definitelya nice upgrade though.

As far as clutches go, your going to get a mixed review. Some people love ACT, some don't. Some love SBR, some don't. Talk to a vendor you support and go with what they recommend. I personally run an ACT 2600 and wouldn't have it any other way. :thumb:

Look in the tech guide and check the intakes they have in there I personally like the ATR hard intake pipe, and a k@n will do nicely. Also I personally am a fan of ACT, it really depends on your power that you are pulling from your car, if its stock then the SBRs would be over kill, and an ACT 2100 would fit you nicely and it has a stock feel dealing with how easy the clutch goes in, but they can hold stage 1 mods, but if your car is already modded decently I would go with the ACT 2600 with the street disc. The higher the #s(2100, 2600, 2900, 3500, 4000) go the bigger your left leg will get :p

Assuming your mod list is up to date, you do not need a clutch as aggeressive as the ACT 2600, the 2100 would be fine. Spec clutches are fine, I have one myself.

A note about the ACT 2600. It is by far the most popular clutch among higher hp DSMers. Yes, some have had some issues with it, but if it seems that you hear a lot of stories about problems this is likely due to its overwhelming popularity.

The intake tube is well worth the money. extremepsi.com has a full intake (filter and maf adaptor included) for cheaper than just a tube from anyone else. I judge airflow mods by how much more boost creep they give me. Just changing from the K&N FIP-KRAP to the extremepsi intake was good for another 2psi.ROFL

I love my 2100 and its worked fine for me so far although I plan to get a 2600 after it craps out. I'm kind of biased though because I haven't driven on anything else.

thanks for the advice on the intakes. and yeah my car is bone stock I just bought it two months ago but my clutch is slipping which is the only reason I would ever upgrade right now so I was planning on getting a "stage 2" level for near future mods. Thanks, ken
