Another Newbie DSM coming aboard

Just getting a feel of the forums and wanting to say hello to everyone. I just purchased a 91 TSI AWD shell ( automatic ) from someone for 250$...not too bad in my opinion..but the engine head is bad..so i had plans to just drop another junkyard TSI engine in. It's not going to be my daily driver, just something for the track...

Just a few questions...
I read the article about putting a turbo on a N/T engine, and cause of the higher compression, it may not be a good idea to drop a N/T engine into my TSI shell? I'm not aiming that hard for 13's, just a car that can do respectable mid to low 14's...would that be possible with an automatic TSI? My budget is a little low...Im a student at Lincoln tech and i work part time at a shop, not to mention with a g/f.... money can get tight....

I have alot to read on these boards, ill prolly print alot of it out and just study but I just wanted some input...

Just buy a turbo motor and be done with it. In the long run it will be cheaper to that then try and fiddle with a turbo'd N/T. Low 14's is cake for an AWD 1G even if it is auto. Get a turbo motor and put an O2 elim exhuast on it, a BC, and you shoudl be ablt toget into the 14's no problem. Low 14's will just take time to get good launches. You could also get a 16G and shoot for the 13's on pumpgas.
