So my timing belt must have been too loose and it jumped timing. My car didn't start this morning and when i got home today, I checked the timing. Lines on cams meet up at like 10 and 2 instead of 3 and 9. I thought for sure contact, bent valves, and taking the head off. I checked compression, and it was 185, 178, 185, 185. Do you guys think I will need new valves? There's no way that they didn't hit the pistons. I thought holes in the valves or bent valves would result in low compression...am I wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm Im not a pro but Ill try. Sounds like the marks are close enough that the valves are not bent. Compression seems a little high though. I dunno what to tell ya bud. Absolutely sure your cams are off timing? If thats the case I would start by retiming it and starting it up with it retimed, see how far that gets you. While your getting ready to retime it you can inspect the belt to see if any teeth are missing or anything like that. Thats what I would do.

Edit>> Like boosted said rotate it around a few more times and see whats goin on there before you go ahead with what I said.

Yeah, it doesn't take that long to redo timing belt, I think I'm just going to do that and see how it goes. Thanks guys. I'll post back with my results.
