So I've read multiple threads on here referring to a Jeep throttle body that can be installed on a 420a for a slight performance gain. But nobody was clear about it.

- On which model of Jeep would I find this throttle body?
- Is this bolt on/plug n play?
- Expected power gains?

I would love to hear from someone who has done this swap before, but anybody who knows what they're talking about can give their input.

Thanks again guys!

I don’t think anyone did an actual dyno run on it. You might be able to find a back to back dyno on another platform for an idea of the gains if any.

The biggest thing I noticed was an increase in throttle response. I also had the 60mm inlet that tapered to 55mm so it matched the inlet of the stock intake better without having to open that at all.

I ran one of these years ago. The car ran fine, I didn't notice a huge improvement in performance. In my opinion, upgrade to a bored out stock TB. You can take the stock TB from 48mm to 55mm.

I have an old jeep TB laying around you can have cheap if you do want to mess with it. It's been modded already and should bolt right on.

Whenever we bored the stock throttle body to 55mm we did a dyno run and picked up 8hp. So id think the 60mm jeep throttle body would probably pull a few more hp over a 55mm

Just to update: the 3 1/2 inch piping works, but I had to buy an adapter because the stock throttle body was smaller. The adapter only cost about $9, so no big deal.

In terms of power, at WOT it doesn't feel any different at all. It feels the same. But the big difference is throttle response. The throttle is very touchy. In fact, it will probably take some getting used to.
