Im going to be doing a performance rebulid on the 4g63. I've bought JE pistons .20 over and eagle rods and of course it will be bore .20 over and balanced and blueprinted. I've heard from a few sources that the JE pistions sit awkward in the cyclinder causing phantom knock and lots of problems. Ive been told that the ideal combonation are wisco pistons and eagle rods. I want to do this rite the first time. any input will be helpful to me

I was reading a DSport the other day about a 4G63 using the JE pistons and this thing had 500+ HP. I dont think that there is any problems with JE pistons. I have used them in the past. The most recent motor build for my eclipse.(I get it back this week) I used Wiseco pistions and eagle rods.

alot of dsm users stay away from JE pistons because they piston slap alot in our motors...now i am not saying there is no one out there that has used JE pistons successfully but most of the time they piston slap alot in our motors...the materials used in there forging process have a different percent of silicone compared to others...most shops and engine rebuilders for dsm engines use wiseco or ross pistons...and those are the 2 pistons i would stick with when dealing with a dsm...

on a side note...honda guys love je pistons...i have no idea why it works so nice in there engines and not ours...
