25psi on race gas at the track this summer should be fun.
maybe a 12 second pass.

Yes we USED to meet there.
Since its been so cold and snowy/rainy we havn't been going.
Once the weather gets better we will be going.

Me and Jordan are doing some nasty brakes on his car tomarrow.
4piston from
2 piston rear
Evo Brembos FTW!

Is this on a 1g or 2g. I am playing with the idea of putting Evo brembos on my car. I am aware of the issues around making this swap and have some inexpensive ideas for resolving the issues. If you guys have figured out another way to do this, I would like to hear what you have planned.

Once you figure out a way let me know, they will be going on my DSM.

Yupp galant knuckles, Zak was thinking about trying a 3g eclipse knuckle for a 1g, both mcphearson type struts so if we can find one we can just pull the caliper off my car. So now that I think about it we might be trying this idea, unless someone has specs on that knuckle as far as bolt spacing.

Ok here is what I have found out so far. My idea is to use a EVO knuckle, since all macpherson strut Mitsu use the same basic design the real issue is attaching the knuckle to the car. There are four points that the knuckle attach excluding brake lines and ABS sensors, so here is what I was thinking:

1. The strut mounting point is wider on the EVO and uses larger bolts. I already have Tein Basics from a EVO 8,9 so I don't have to worry about this part.

2. Attaching the rack should be pretty straightforward. The tie rod ends look pretty similar if not the EVO ends should be the same thread as 1g ends. Even if that doesn't work there is a good chance that moog or spicer make one that will fit.

3. The ball joint is one issue that should work but I can't tell until I test it. The ball joint on a 1g is different than an EVO. But the bottom looks the same, like it could be used to replace the 1g ball joint.

The 3g is similar as well. I think the main difference is the bottom again. They are only $20 and I was going to try it when I can afford to have my car down any decent period of time. I think the ball joint is also different for the 3g/Galant/Stratus same design as the EVO just different part number.

4. Axle/Hub, this is the one issue that I have no idea about. What it takes to get a 1g CV axle to mate with a EVO hub. I was thinking about conning a local shop into ordering both for me just to see the difference. I may take something like a hybrid 1g/EVO axle to work. On the other hand the size/interface may be identical.

That's what I've been thinking about. Also looking into swapping 3kgt knuckles front and back for some equally killer brakes.

Another thing to note about the 3g route. I don't know what the difference between that and the 3g is but, there is another issue with the 3g. The club3g links that I read also said that 3kgt 2piston calipers are a direct bolt on upgrade to the 1 pots some of the 3gs had. I have Diamante/3kgt 2 pots and they have 130mm(?) spacing not the 160mm(?) spacing required for Brembos or 3kgt brakes. Good luck!
